Beauty in Nature

So it is said that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder...whatever happens when the beauty itself is there for all to see,is it still considered as natural beauty??....Three weeks ago I was taken away from all the ghastly pollution and brought to the quietest of places in malaysia, the village,or as they call it " Kampung Sungai Pasu".

The air that floated around was all soo clean and the water that flowed, ever so pure. Green were the pastural lands that the villagers filled with varieties of fruits and vegetables.

At first, the very idea of me living the city for a stranger place that had no source of technology whatsoever was quite scary, especially since I am very dependant on the internet. Once at the highlands, all fear had slowly dissolved leaving me with room full of amazement and awe.

The trees ran a great length, some taller and wider than others. The plants a deep green, displaying the richness in minerals. There was a great number of not only fruits but also flowers.
The first day went by without awareness and before we knew it, we were escorted to the further ends of the village to be shown other wonders such as teh function of the rubber trees and their uses to man.

However exciting this all was, there were also the very painful moments...the INSECTS!!! They were crawling all over us, feasting on our skin and any exposed areas.

All in all the village was a very memorable and peaceful experience, one that will take a long while to try forget.

FeSTivALS!!!

We are once again back to the hectic school routines, running around trying to make it to our classes, chasing lecturers with impending questions and their possible answers........so much for holidays right??....

As the holiday seasons come to an end we are once again reminded of all its blissful happy moments and the people that helped in making all the memories a true reality. As one of the shared festivals, BIRTHDAYS are the BEST things that ever happened to this world....for what is anyone really without being born??....this festival marks our beginning...as it is truly what defines our likes and capabilities.

Although, we can't really return to our youth ages, birthdays are set as a path of reminiscing our olden times and how we used to pass times....especially with our most cherished people (unless you’re really weird and choose to spend it with people you highly despise).....Remember the amount of friends and family who would go out of their way just to make this special festivity one to always look back to???.....that is what we all really need......questions we can ask ourselves when we turn into chair-cradling old grannies who'd spend most of their times recalling the "back in my days" tales to grand children that would rather be watching television or catching up in the latest school drama.

And like birthdays; all the other festivals fall into place accordingly. Such festivals we celebrate can be valentine’s day, Christmas, Eid, Deepavali, Chinese new year, mother’s day and even our very own father's day. A lot of new holidays are arising daily and although some might not even really be called for we all know NOT to question the true motives, for all we know, "A festival is a festival"...whether or not it really is acknowledged, right????!!!!!

So let us all jump into our party clothes and stilettos, and boys grab your coats and car keys and let us all make these festivals ones that can't be forgotten in any of these upcoming days.......

Putting a stop to animal rights.

I am not exactly a fan of cats as much, dogs are way more my thing, as I was raised in a cat-free environment. As a little girl I was a very quiet person and I did not like the company of people as much, I guess I found it pretty claustrophobic.

With people, judging others is quite an easy thing. However, when in the company of an animal their affectation is plainly visible and with them you have no need whatsoever to pretend nor please for they willingly accept oneself. Feeling insecure is an everyday thing for most girls and little boys and so that is mainly why, when having a dog you can confide in and have around you at all times comes in handy.

I lost my very first dog at the age of four and it was the most overwhelming thing that had ever happened to me at that age. My parents had entrusted me with the care of a small adorable puppy, in which I chose to name "Snoopy". It became a daily schedule for me to run to the backyard and in to Snoopy's kennel to ensure that he was fully hydrated and fed before I headed out to school. Not only did I find doing this my personal achievement but I knew that it was a way in which my parents chose to entrust me with a bit of responsibility.

For a four year old girl, one could imagine the excitement of it all. Not an ear could go within distance of Snoopy without my consent, for he was MY dog. Evening walks were his specialty so I would convince my mother to let me out. I was so in love with Snoopy I started involving him in all my everyday activities....playing catch, soccer and even swimming. I Loved him in water!!

One sad school afternoon, I returned home to a deserted house, as I ran to the back I had a bad feeling about what I was going to see. I searched throughout the house and even at the neighbours, but Snoopy was truly gone.

When my parents arrived, my mother cuddled me and then explained the most painful thing I had ever heard off....DEATH!!....As soon as was I told of what happened to my Snoopy, I vowed I would never stop treating animals badly for deep within me I blamed myself for Snoopy's death.

At the age of nine, my uncle who is an animal expert explained that animals dying isn't due to playing with them but rather treating them badly, and he told me I hadn't done such a thing.

Although I have had quite a lot of dogs since then, I can never forget my adorable Snoopy. I love all animals and mistreating such and also skinning animals is very brutal.

Animal Rights and their up bringing.

Wilson is a very self-preserved young man who has a great fondness for animals. As of two years ago, Wilson was strolling down a 30 floor apartment and what he saw that evening completely altered his entire perspective.

At the top of the nineteenth floor, stood an owner with his cat. As Wilson looked closely he suddenly saw the inevitable, for it was within seconds that the owner shoved the cat, causing the animal to drop down and breaking its hind legs. As he watched this, a sudden rage overcame him and he developed a hatred for all the people who took part in such terrible acts.

Heading back home, he explained in sequence all of the days events to his parents and asked them for help on how to stop such cruelty. Wilson's father, after a short period of convincing, gave in and agreed to fund an animal shelter program that Wilson was going to run.

Day and night, Wilson went out of his way in ensuring that he collected most of the stray animals in his small town up country and sent them to his new veterinary clinic, where he had already appointed the best veterinarians and other helping hands to assist him with taking care of the poor wounded ones and to feed all the hungry animals.

Word came out and eventually, many people from across the country heard about Wilson's program and started sending out funds and also even adopted the cute adorable furry animals.

Three years later, passing through the same neighborhood, Wilson witnessed another distressing event. Walking through the apartment complex, a black sedan came skidding across the road and onto the pavement, making contact with a nearby tree. Seeing this happen in front of him, Wilson ran to the drivers aid.

Reaching the car, he saw that it would be impossible to pry open the door and pull the driver out. So he called an ambulance which arrived ten minutes later. Thinking he is family, the nurses made it clear to Wilson that the driver had broken both his legs and would be handicapped for life.

As the ambulance drove past him, Wilson realized that the driver happened to be the same man he had seen drop his cat three years earlier.

Until today, Wilson's animal protection program remains as one of the greatest animal rights advocate offices in the whole of Europe.

This goes to show that if it can happen to an animal it can happen to a person.... So why only care for a person. ANIMALS NEED PROTECTION!!

Another racial harmony post.

I'm back again with a new discussion point---"Racial Harmony".......
As a focus point I feel it right to use Malaysia as a good country for it. malaysia houses alot of different races as an individual nation-considering it holds mostly Chinese, Malays and Indians.

Seeing this, I know you would expect alot of fightings and racial discriminations,BUT they handle the whole situation quite understandably. Most of the  educated people (which are quite many come to think of it) ave their own set of rules that they administer to each
other thus making this place quite a nice place. Locals are also quite accomodating and friendly as they give guidance  to the tourists and passers-by. All this is quite a different experience. In the colleges, the students that arrive from different parts of the world aren't treated as outcasts but are rather welcomed and even helped to settle in.

Well another issue that makes the country a focus point is the fact that it has one of the best education ministries and so alot of foreigners get attracted here. As a foreigner myself, I find myself well treated and so this decreases the amount of time I would've spent on looking for a secure place (and its a hectic thing I assure you....pretty nerve-wracking).

Lately there has been a few amounts of riots as the media have been telling people about a racial uprise.Although alot of these happenings have been going on, the peace has still been quite visible which causes all the people around (including me) to be in some sort of jeopardy and tension.

However, this doesn't not alter the earlier perspective of  the country being a good place for a mixed race community.

RACIAL HARMONY

I lack the privilege to represent my people
and the history of my ancestors,
because My heart longs for the love forbidden
Not letting In their eyes, I lack the “authenticity”
the cloak of the pitch night enshroud this secret.

In the Glistening darkness
I’m not black, you’re not white
No words between us
none need to be said
Touches speak themselves.

Day and night I see the fire,
that ignites in poeple's hearts.
NOt the yellow nor the purple,
a boundary is what puts us apart.

I fall into your eyes,
Sink into your smile.
I’m embraced by you
and stay there a while.

I’m dark in comparison behind your pale wall
but Behind veins of arrogance, your blood is the colour of mine
I taste your affectation, and you feel my skin,
Our kiss, our hearts, our bittersweet passion,
a lover’s embrace, lost in blindness.
But the paint on the skin is all "they" can see
A distinct difference of black from white, yellow from green.

"They" want us apart
Cause seeing us together gives "them" chills
Gives "them" shivers and scares "their" ignorant minds
They want the greens with greens, blacks with blacks, whites to whites
Because to "them" Colours can’t mix.

And then come those with envy,
their expressions filled with malice.
For them we seem like heroes,
as we wander the streets without a care.

Spoken thoughts seem dead,
Yet you consume all as well.
Nothing we do goes unsaid,
yet in their minds, we know they dwell.

The two of us, black from white.

Never will I be brighter, you’ll never be darkerI hope that this makes you stop and think,
at least for a little while.
Maybe it will change your mind.

All alone with you,
Never far apart.
Tell me you love me,
and I give you my heart.
